Sustainability, The "Back-2-MAC Program"

Sustainability is providing the best for people and the environment both now and in the future.  How this program works is to return six empty primary packaging containers back to MAC and recieve a free lipstick of your choice back.  I think MAC is very clever to come up with an idea like this.  Their lip products are in the range of $17-26, which is quite pricey.  This encourages customers to recycle these containers as a way to give back to the community.  MAC also has a program called MAC Aids Fund.  Every cent of the selling price of MAC lipstick is donated to the MAC Aids Fund where they help women, men and kids around the world that is affected by HIV/AIDs.  This is a positive way for customers to contribute to the community.  I will be looking forward to being a part of these two incredible programs.

Business Ethics and Socials Responsibilities

As far as making profit goes, businesses should be aware of their business ethics and social responsibilities.  Business ethics are basically the moral principles and values that decide the actions and decisions of a group.  If there is a procedure that needs to be done and is morally wrong, which is against their business ethics, it may affect the company and their profit will decrease.  Each company should have their responsibilities towards society.  Society has been using the term "green", which basically means recycling and giving back to the community.  I think that making profit is important and so is being socially responsible for our environment.  Businesses should put their resources to better use rather than putting them to waste.  Everyone has their own opinion on business ethics and social responsibilities, but they should keep in mind that giving back to the community may benefit them as well.
